Optometrists are vision care specialists who deliver eye examinations, contact lens fittings and examinations, dispense spectacles and contact lenses; as a prerequisite it is also important that your optometrist rules out glaucoma, macular degeneration and/or other ocular pathology that may be related to systemic conditions like diabetes, hypertension; more sophisticated digital equipment and now even AI in our future will be an everyday reliable source for the optometrist to confidently rule out or rule in any risk of sight threatening vision or eye conditions.
Trend analyses mean regular measurements are the best way to monitor conditions that may be looming prior to the patient experiencing any symptoms. Myopia Management is an important aspect for optometrists to undertake – WHO (World Health Organization) predicts that Myopia will reach 50% of the global population by the year 2050; myopia of 5.00D and above are found to be prevalent in populations that suffer early cataracts, early glaucoma, retinal detachments and eventually myopic macular degeneration. We take great pride that our clinic delivers Biometry at Expressive Eyes to specifically address this future epidemic and intervene appropriately with hard evidence.
Our knowledge is constantly being updated about new developments in eye care and especially now during this age of much increased use of digital screens; currently exciting research delivers new Dry Eye Treatments and intraocular lenses for our Cataract patients.

Appointments
We are open Tuesdays to Fridays and some Saturdays of the month. Please contact us to book your appointment at least 48 hours in advance. If you phone in we may be able to fit you in for an emergency appointment.
For routine appointments it would be best to telephone in or email us to reserve an appointment. When we are giving our full attention to our scheduled visitors/guests and cannot answer the phone, please leave a voice message with your preferred contact number or email us and we will get back to you within 48 hours.
